In 2013, Round Rock voters approved $56.5 million in bonds for park and trail projects. Part of those bonds were to be used for a "passive" park / trail system on the land between Behrens Ranch and Creek Bend (which was purchased by the City in 2009). The City will hold input meetings over the next few weeks for the first phase of that new 2020 trail system. The planned budget for that first phase is $1 million. Stay tuned for details on meeting dates and places. We, as a community, need to be present as this will affect the values and outdoor enjoyment of the community (especially those who adjoin this green space). This will be a public trail system but the City wants to put in parking and other amenities which will be controversial to Behrens Ranch owners (and perhaps violate an agreement).
