Money magazine released its annual Best Places to Live 2019 and the City of Round Rock came in at #2. To determine the best cities to live, Money first looked at areas with populations of 50,000 or greater and then the magazine examined each area's economic cost of living, ethnic and economic diversity, income, public education, health and safety, ease of living and amenities. Once that data came in, researchers went to work on intangible factors that aren’t revealed by statistics. Round Rock was applauded for its high household median income ($82,229), high home ownership rate (61 percent) and booming job market (3.1 percent unemployment rate). Other highlights mentioned includes the business climate and how the city works with local business owners to help them be successful.
